Tiverton, the home of Pirate's Cove Whale & Seabird Cruises, is an authentic fishing village on the tip of Long Island, Digby County, Nova Scotia. Long Island separated from Digby Neck by Petite Passage and surrounded by the Bay of Fundy, is reached by car ferry from East Ferry following route 217 from Digby. Allow 45 minutes travel time from Digby. The ferry crossing takes about 5 minutes and the cost for a return trip is $4.00.
Our friends "from away" can enter Nova Scotia through Yarmouth (by ferry from Portland or Bar Harbour, Maine), through Digby (by ferry from St. John, New Brunswick), or by highway through New Brunswick.

Besides being in the centre of the best "whale watching" on the East Coast, Tiverton is a typical, working Nova Scotia fishing community. It promises some of the cleanest air, bluest waters, prettiest scenery and friendliest folk in Atlantic Canada. |
